Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Al-Quran Academy services, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Service Description

Al-Quran Academy provides online Islamic education services including:

• Quran reading and recitation classes
• Tajweed and Qira'at instruction
• Quran memorization (Hifz) programs
• Islamic studies and Tafseer courses
• Arabic language learning
• One-on-one and group sessions

3. Eligibility and Account Holder

We warmly welcome students of all ages, including young children. However, the person who opens the account and pays for classes must be an adult:

• The account holder and payer must be 18 years of age or older
• A parent or legal guardian must register and pay on behalf of any student under 18
• The parent or legal guardian is responsible for the subscription, all payments made under the account, and the student's compliance with these terms
• By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that you are authorised to use the payment method provided

A student under 18 may attend and use classes under the supervision of their parent or guardian, but the contract for our services is with the adult account holder.

4. User Responsibilities

Account Registration

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Take responsibility for all activities under your account

Class Participation

• Attend scheduled classes punctually
• Maintain respectful communication with teachers
• Provide advance notice for cancellations
• Ensure a suitable learning environment
• Have necessary technology and internet connection

5. Payment Terms

Fees and Billing

• Course fees are due according to your selected payment schedule
• All fees are charged in US Dollars (USD)
• Fees are invoiced monthly for the plan or rate agreed with you
• If a payment is late, we will contact you — nothing is suspended automatically. See section 6 below

Refund Policy

• Refunds are available within 7 days of first class if unsatisfied
• No refunds for classes already attended beyond the trial period
• Refunds processed within 5-10 business days

6. Subscription, Billing and Auto-Renewal

Classes are billed monthly. Please read this section carefully, as it explains exactly how and when you will be charged.

Paying Monthly (Default)

• You are invoiced once per month for the plan or rate agreed with you
• Fees are shown and charged in US Dollars (USD), matching the plan you selected or the rate we have agreed with you
• You pay each invoice yourself — no payment method is charged without you taking that action
• If we ever change your price, we will notify you by email in advance

If You Opt In to Automatic Renewal

Automatic renewal is available on request for supported payment methods — please contact us to enable it on your account. If — and only if — automatic renewal has been enabled and you have opted in, the following applies:

• Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel or switch auto-renewal off
• You are charged monthly on the anniversary date of your enrolment — for example, if you enrol on the 15th, you will be charged on or around the 15th of each following month
• Where a month does not contain your anniversary date (for example the 31st), you will be charged on the last day of that month
• The amount charged is the monthly price of your plan, in US Dollars (USD), matching the plan or agreed rate shown to you before you opted in
• By opting in, you authorise us to securely store your payment method and charge it automatically for each monthly renewal
• You can turn automatic renewal off at any time from your dashboard, and continue paying manually instead
• Automatic renewal is offered only with payment methods that support automatic monthly charges. Where a payment method does not support this, you will continue to be invoiced each month and pay manually

Your Payment Method

• Payments are processed by our payment provider. Your payment details are held securely by the payment provider and are never stored on our own servers
• Your payment method is only stored for future use if you have opted in to automatic renewal
• You may update or remove your payment method at any time from your account dashboard

Reminders and Receipts

• We send you a reminder by email before each monthly payment is due. If you have opted in to automatic renewal, this reminder is sent before the payment method is charged, so you always know a payment is coming
• We send you an email receipt for every payment, showing the amount, the date, and the plan it relates to

How to Cancel

• You can cancel at any time from your account dashboard — there is no notice period and no cancellation fee
• Cancelling stops all future charges. You will not be billed again
• You can also simply switch automatic renewal off if you would rather keep learning but pay manually each month
• Your cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and you keep access to your remaining classes in that period

If a Payment Fails or an Invoice Goes Unpaid

• If an automatic renewal payment is declined, we will notify you by email and the payment will be retried automatically over the following days
• If you pay manually and an invoice remains unpaid, we will send you gentle reminders by email
• You may pay or update your payment method at any time — classes continue as normal while this is sorted out
• In the ordinary course we will keep teaching for around one to one and a half months while an account is behind, so that a difficult month never costs a child their lessons
• If an invoice remains unpaid beyond that, we will review the account together with your teacher and contact you personally to agree what happens next. Where we are not able to reach an arrangement, we reserve the right to pause classes until the balance is settled
• Any pause is decided by a person, discussed with you first, and lifted as soon as matters are resolved — your teacher and class time are held for you wherever possible
• Please talk to us if money is the problem. We run a Fi-Sabilillah programme that provides free classes to families who genuinely cannot afford fees, and teachers who volunteer their time for it. Nobody is turned away for being unable to pay — but we can only help if we know

7. Scheduling and Cancellations

• Student Cancellations: 24-hour advance notice required for makeup classes
• Teacher Cancellations: We will provide makeup classes or credit
• No-Shows: Classes missed without notice are considered completed
• Rescheduling: Subject to teacher availability and academy policies
• Holiday Schedule: Classes may be suspended during Islamic holidays

8. Intellectual Property

All content provided by Al-Quran Academy, including:

• Course materials and curriculum
• Audio and video recordings
• Teaching methodologies and resources
• Website content and design

Are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

9. Code of Conduct

All users must:

• Maintain Islamic values and respectful behavior
• Follow teacher instructions and academy guidelines
• Refrain from disruptive or inappropriate conduct
• Respect the privacy and rights of other students
• Not share login credentials or class recordings
• Report any concerns to academy administration

10. Technology Requirements

Students are responsible for:

• Stable internet connection (minimum 1 Mbps)
• Compatible device (computer, tablet, or smartphone)
• Working camera and microphone
• Quiet, distraction-free learning environment
• Updated browser or required software

11. Limitation of Liability

Al-Quran Academy provides educational services on an "as is" basis. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from service use, including but not limited to technical issues, learning outcomes, or interruptions in service.

12. Cancellation and Termination

• By Student: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. No notice period is required. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for, you keep access to your remaining classes in that period, and no further charges will be taken
• By Academy: For violation of terms, non-payment, or inappropriate behavior
• Effect of Termination: Access to materials ceases at the end of the paid period, and any outstanding fees for services already provided remain due

13. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

14. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to our website. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
